Angel Heart with Filmmaker / Delirium Editor-in-Chief Chris Alexander
This week, Jinx welcomes Chris Alexander to the show! A filmmaker, musician, and film critic who served as the editor-in-chief of legendary horror magazine Fangoria (and who is currently acting as the editor-in-chief of the excellent horror magazine Delirium), Mr. Alexander has chosen Alan Parker’s 1987 film Angel Heart for discussion.

With its genre-melding blend of noir and horror, Angel Heart inspires a talk on the film’s making, its music, the impressive work of Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro, why the MPAA is utterly irrelevant, and the current state of horror magazines.

It’s a fun chat with a great guest on an underloved gem, and it’s one we hope you enjoy!

Make certain to subscribe to our show on iTunes, leave feedback, tell your friends about us, check out and, purchase Angel Heart and Mr. Alexander’s films using the Amazon links below, and give us a yell on Facebook and Twitter.

I’ve never seen this one, but it sounds pretty cool so I’ll have to give it a go, and as for noir horror, the only film that springs to mind is Dark City, but it’s more science fiction than horror. Jinx if you like horror magazines you should try SCREAM, it’s a UK horror mag that’s started to be distributed around the US, it’s pretty decent.
