Mass Hysteria: Ghostbusters '16

The gang returns from their break to chat about a strangely controversial film - the new Ghostbusters reboot. With its all-female lead cast and rewriting of Ghostbusters lore, this remake has been drawing loads of ire since long before its release.

Did the gang like it, love it, hate it, think it was merely okay?  Are any of them closet misogynists?  Listen in, find out, and be sure to pay attention when we talk about how you - the listener - can suggest the subject of our next viewing and podcast.

So gear up, kick back, keep your box of Ghostbuster-themed Twinkies handy, and prepare to enjoy our newest podcast - lest you be slimed.

I’m both excited and not excited to see the new Ghostbusters film. I love the originals but think new blood could lead to us having a fantastic run of new titles in the franchise, but with all that said I’m not really a fan of a lot of modern comedy films – and if the trailer is anything to go by, it just doesn’t look funny. As for the whole all female team, well so what, if it’s good it’s good and if it sucks it sucks, time shall tell!

As for films to watch/discuss a few pop to mind!

    Dario Argento’s Suspiria
    Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin
Ana Lily Amirpour’s A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night
