The author of such novels as A Head Full of Ghosts, Disappearance at Devil’s Rock, and The Cabin at the End of the World,  Mr. Tremblay has chosen Roy Ward Baker’s Hammer sci-fi/horror classic Quatermass and the Pit for discussion this week..

With its fascinating lead character and blend of horror and sci-fi, Quatermass kicks off a conversation which focuses on the movie’s titular character (and his previous adventures), the film’s themes of superstition versus science, and the uncomfortable parallels to Nazi Germany that the film conjures.  Along the way, the two chat about the film’s true hero, John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, and…marching Martian cricket Nazis?!
